I realized lately (as I've been purging), that I neatly folded and stored many of my quilts upon moving to this house four years ago. I keep a few out and use them regularly, but so many have been relegated to "the closet".
I'm thinking about letting many of these quilts go and thought I would share them with you first.
Here's a pic of the closet doors opened........
...and here are some pics of the individual shelves.
My DH and his daughter will be setting up at an antique market in a couple weeks and he would like to take them. I'm thinking I'll let him - or maybe I should post them for sale. I don't know. It's going to take a bit of thought, but it's probably time to let them go.
well..........til next time..........
Carol
Those are beautiful! I know a certain MB who might just be interested in the "French Farmhoue" blue ones.

ReplyDeleteI love your quilts, all of them. I have several that were made by my grandmother. Many of them were made using her worn house dresses and my grandfathers railroad coveralls and shirts. I use the ones that are not fragile and store those that are. I know it will be difficult to part with them. Thanks for sharing your lovely collection.

Hi Carol, I have mine picked out as well. What a wonderful collection to have. Oh I can so relate to the need for purging, but quilts??? Old Good Condition ones??? I don't know either. But like I said, I saw mine. And I too am waiting for that delivery tomorrow to. I am picturing a state of the art printer, like the size of the ones in the Mall Kodak shops? Am I close????

Hi Carol,
ReplyDeleteI know it must be hard to say goodbye. What a lovely collection. I see one that I would love to adopt. It is on the middle shelf on the left. :O)

I love quilts and to see a collection of them all folded neatly is a perfect view.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! Quilts and coverlets!! Those two blue and white coverlets hiding at the bottom of the pile jumped right out at me! I think they will move very quickly right here on MMP.

I love old quilts. I used to buy cutters and make small pillows. It was so much fun to find an area in good shape with a great pattern. You have a lovely collection. I would have a hard time letting that go!

I can't handle it. I'm the queen of purging, but they look sooooo darn pretty all neatly folded. Love them all. Oh what a hard thing to do. Wishing you the best of luck with letting them go. So hard.

I love quilts! I will not have anything other than one on my beds at home. I also have a tall pile of them by the sofa for when my kids and grandkids come home -- they all have their own to snuggle in...another tradition that reminds me of when I grew up...
